For the third year running, ASL's innovation team attended Coca-Cola's Supplier Summit in Malaysia earlier this month. We're proud to report that Lucie Harris, ASL's Global Account Director for Coke, was invited as a keynote speaker this year, presenting ideas on this year's theme, 'Sustainability'.

This major summit hosted 180+ people, with delegates from Coca-Cola's marketing teams across the region. ASL's presentation offered an in-depth look at how Coke's marketing activities can be more sustainable, especially in the area of in-market promotional activations.

Many activations are co-branded in this market, so stakeholders were interesting in opportunities for co-branded promotions which deliver high engagement rates among consumer audiences. Lucie gave attendees a round-up of best practice examples from other global markets, and some of the best new ideas around sustainable materials which build brand integrity and deliver a great customer experience.

Lucie Harris commented on the event "It's been great to share our experiences with other Coke markets. Often, campaigns are discrete within each country, so these forums are are useful way to help Coke marketing teams collaborate more effectively across regions".

She continued "We've had lots of interest in sustainable materials and their application in marketing campaigns. There are some interesting new materials coming onto the market; not just the usual recycled plastic and bamboo products, but innovative materials such as wheat straw and celluose fibres, which can be used to create fresh, engaging promotional products with robust sustainability credentials".
