ASL is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Thomson as its new President for the Americas region. This senior role was recently created in response to rapid growth for ASL in both US and Central America markets. Richard will be focused on developing the huge growth potential across the whole region.
Originally from the UK, Richard has travelled and worked extensively across India and South East Asia. He has many years' experience in the marketing services business and the US market. Having moved permanently to New York in 2018, he is perfectly placed to drive this market forward for ASL, building on the strong client relationships that have already been forged over recent years, especially in the beauty and food & beverage sector.
Alec Pettigrew, ASL's Chairman, commented on the appointment "This is a very important new strategic role for ASL. We've recently experienced strong growth in the States, Central and South America so the time is now right to consolidate and build on this success. Richard has the perfect blend of experience, market knowledge and expertise to expand the robust platform we have already created. As a global service provider, the Americas is a critically important region for ASL and we're very positive about it's potential for future new business growth with Richard at the helm".
Richard Thomson also commented on his new role "I'm excited to join the ASL team and I'm looking forward to unlocking the potential in this region. We already have some fantastic strategic relationships with global consumer brands, many of which I have already worked with over the years. There is a great opportunity to develop deeper collaborations with these customers, and add real value to their marketing activities across the US and South America".
Richard is based in New York but will be travelling regularly across the region, to meet the ASL teams and build up client & supplier relationships. He continued "It's important to leverage local supply chains to make sure we make the most of our buying network. I'm hugely excited by the Mexican and Central American markets and I'm looking forward to expanding our client base and diversifying the market sectors we operate within".
