Despite COVID19, our teams still find ways to celebrate their special days together.
ASL's Mexico team always go big when celebrating their birthdays, with cakes, office decorations, and after work dinner & beers. This year, despite the COVID situation, the team is determined not to let birthdays go by without at least some sort of celebration.
Their latest scheme was a pop-up birthday celebration for their colleague, Fernanda Kuri. After several days planning and secret WhatsApp group chats, they surprised Fernanda with a drive-by birthday party at her home, adhering to social distancing guidelines, of course.
The 'cover story' was that Fernanda would receive a package with product samples from a supplier. The doorbell rang, and once she stepped out, the team surprised her with a chocolate cake (her favourite) and some COVID shaped birthday balloons.
Fernanda said “I have the best team ever! I never thought they’d surprise me, especially during quarantine. I feel very thankful and blessed to be surrounded with colleagues like them. My birthday was definitely different, but fun!”
The team had cake (with the necessary precautions & distance), chatted for a while, wished her a fun day, and drove back home.
Erick Rodriguez, ASL's Account Director for Mexico, said about the party “It’s very important that my team feels supported and cared for, especially in the current situation. Even though we chat on a daily basis, it was nice to see them in person and make sure they’re all safe and healthy!”
Well done team! Everyone has had to adapt to a 'new normal' these days, and we're proud that our people are finding ways to stay connected and celebrate their special days together.
Many happy returns to everyone who has had a ‘lockdown birthday’ this year 😊
