ASL's Shanghai sales team took time out recently to attend the fourth annual Taobao Festival in Hangzhou, China. This major event (organised by e-commerce giant, Alibaba) is a celebration of China's young creatives and features the latest in Next-Gen technology.
More than 1,000 products were showcased at the Festival, spread across sectors as diverse as street fashion, cultural heritage, technology, food and novel designs & curiosities.
The event has been growing every year and it's become a must-attend event for our Chinese sales teams. This year, the team found high technology and traditional Chinese style products were the hottest trends. Robotic bartenders and exoskeleton technology were just two of the innovative ideas on display.
For the first time, some of the world’s top luxury and designer brands took part in the opening day fashion show, alongside China’s emerging fashion talent and streetwear brands.
Leading beauty brand, Lancôme, was the show's chief creative partner and their interactive brand booth was a major highlight. This 'black box' gave delegates the opportunity for a fully immersive brand experience - our team reported it was an unforgettable encounter!
