Last month, ASL Global renewed its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact initiative by publishing its 2020 Communication on Progress Report. Since joining this important initiative in 2017, every year ASL reports the progress we are making towards the UN's Ten Guiding Principles.
Earlier this year, fully aligned with these Guiding Principles, ASL launched its new One World initiative with three clear aims:
- To reduce our environmental impact
- To inspire our customers & suppliers to become more sustainable
- To help local communities flourish
ASL's latest Communication on Progress Report details the progress we have made in the past 12 months in the four key areas identified by the UN - Human Rights, Labour, the Environment & Anti-Corruption. Key areas of progress for ASL this year include:
- Code of Conduct translated & briefed into all Far East factories
- CSR/Sustainability training for all ASL staff completed
- Energy/Waste consumption tracking process implemented
- Move to recycled paper in all ASL offices
