Key takeaways from the PTE 2020 Trade Show in Milan

ASL's Italian Sales Team recently attended the PTE Show in Milan. This trade show is the only annual showcase in Italy for promotional products, business gifts and personalisation equipment.

Once again, there was a strong trend towards sustainability. But our team also noticed that many exhibitors have developed a more complex offer on environmentally friendly promo products with an emphasis on reducing impact and using recycled materials.

Here are the teams' key takeaways from the show:

1. USING RECYCLED MATERIALS

There were many products on show which used recycled materials and products such as plastic and used coffee granules. Our favourite item was this notepad made from used milk cartons.

2. INNOVATIVE PRINTING TECHNIQUES

Lots of interesting printing techniques on display. For example, 360 degree laser engraving on round objects and CMYK printing on cylindrical products. We loved these flocked pens - the decoration lent a great texture which made the product really stand out.

3. CUSTOMISATION

Personalised promotional products have been around for a while, but we noticed a real trend towards more innovative customisation solutions. There were some great ideas about how to use technology to make a fresh impact with products like customisable face stickers and POP displays.
