Every year, ASL celebrates World Oceans Day on June 8 by hosting a clean-up of the ocean and waterways in our local communities. This year, our 'Big Clean-Up 2022' campaign involved ASL colleagues getting out with friends and family for group litter-picking all around the world.
For the second year running, ASL teams came together for this activity as part of ASL's One World sustainability initiative. The 'Big Clean-Up 2022' built upon our commitment to provide a better world through sustainable b
usiness practices. This involved making positive contributions to local communities in which we live, both inside and outside of our working environment.

Our efforts aim to make a difference not just for one day, but for many days to come. This year ASL employees joined forces with over 100 volunteers across 8 countries who collected over 900 kilos of rubbish between them - well done team!
Emma Pomeroy, ASL Global's Chief Sustainability Officer, spoke about the global event "This campaign shows that our wonderful ASL colleagues really do walk the walk when it comes to sustainability. The Big Clean-Up is a great example of how people can come together and inspire others to do their part in keeping our oceans clean and healthy. It was also lots of fun to get together away from the office!"
The campaign was also a great opportunity for us to get together and spend time out of the office with colleagues, friends, family, clients and even some of our pets came along!
Emma Pomeroy concluded "The teams all enjoyed their various clean-up activities. From kayaking along the beautiful beaches in Thailand to strolling through the streets of Oxford here in the UK, it was a great day and we're already busy planning the 2023 Clean-Up campaign!"
