Back in November, we were delighted to welcome the latest generation of Interns to the ASL family, joining our teams in the UK & Vietnam. It's important to us that all of our employees feel supported throughout their journey within the company, so we caught up with two of our Interns to see how they are getting on...
Ellie Roy is our Marketing Intern based within the UK. Ellie is currently studying for her Business & Marketing Management degree at Oxford Brookes University.
Ellie reflected on her experiences when she joined the business ‘I have been an intern within ASL for just over three weeks now. Despite this short period, the experience I have gained has been invaluable. The support I have received from not only ASL UK, but globally, has enabled me to settle in comfortably and feel truly a member of the team. Coming into the office on my first day and being greeted by friendly smiles and warm welcomes was so reassuring".
We also followed up with Triss Nguyen who is with our Vietnam team. Triss describes how she is working on the development of client proposals "I've found formulating client proposals to be a most challenging assignment, but it's also the most enjoyable task and I'm learning a lot along the way. I'm reminded of the John Adam Quote: “Every challenge is an opportunity in disguise”. Every time I face a struggling task, I know this is when I upgrade myself".
Triss also reflected on the opportunities for creativity and learning within her role "I love breakthrough ideas. In the past, I often immersed myself in watching novel & innovative products that are so useful in daily life. And it normally just stops there. However, since I joined ASL, I am able to suggest those innovative items to clients with the hope of making customers' lives better. That excites me."
At ASL Global we strive to provide a comfortable and well-supported environment for our interns. When reflecting on her current experience Ellie describes "I have been working alongside Emma Pomeroy, ASL's Marketing & CRS Director. Despite her constantly heavy workload, she always makes time to check in with me, encouraging me to ask questions and involving me with a variety of different aspects of her role. I would like to thank her for her patience along with the valuable skills she has provided me with".
Ellie explained more about her role within the Marketing Team "It's been so varied, I'm facing new and exciting experiences each day. Some aspects of my position include managing the social media channels, preparing press releases, assisting with the internal company newsletter, preparing and presenting competitor analyses, finding new and exciting content for the ASL blog posts and helping to organise our annual ASL Awards event scheduled for later in December. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and I'm looking forward to what the rest of my internship entails here at ASL Global"
We are proud to be supporting these individuals throughout their time at ASL and wish them the best of luck with the rest of their exciting journey within ASL Global.
