Today we proudly celebrate International Human Rights Day. As a global business with hundreds of employees and a diverse, global supply chain, we recognise the importance of upholding the fundamental principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
On the 10th of December 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year marks the 71st anniversary of the declaration that fortified the rights that all human beings are inherently entitled to, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights empowers us all. #StandUp4HumanRights
Human rights sit at the heart of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since without human dignity, sustainable development cannot be achieved. Here are the 3 first articles grounding our Rights & Freedom:
Article 1: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights
Article 2: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status
Article 3: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person
